An Experiment in Poetry
Welcome, Fantasy Nerds! Last week we shared a list of our favorite poems with you. This week we decided to write our own poems, especially for this post. We are both fairly new to writing poetry, so this is a bit of an experiment. We hope you enjoy it!
Sometimes – Clever
Sometimes I
Forget that I
Have wings to fly
Above it all
Sometimes I
Forget that I
Can close my eye
Not see the fall
We are always watching
Pettiness, cruelty, envy
Evil
Sometimes we
Can choose to see
The beauty
In this world
Sometimes we
Can choose to be
The beauty
In this world
Lost – WTF
The skies above
The Earth Below
I am in between
Not knowing where to go
I feel lost
I feel this the most
But what pulls me through
Is that I am not alone
My family, my friends
My lover, my pets
They are there for me
Until the bitter end
But most of all
I have myself
I’ve been through it all
I’ve been there for every step
I look in the mirror
When I feel lost
I nod at the woman I see
And tell her she is loved
What Do You Think?
Have you tried writing poetry before? Do you write poems frequently? We think it’s great for an author’s creativity to try our new forms of writing. If you decide to try your hand at poetry, let us know how it goes! We’d also love to hear your thoughts on our poems! If you enjoyed this post, feel free to buy us a coffee. We promise to share!
Thanks so much for reading!
