Best Toys for Fantasy Nerds
If you want to inspire some imagination in your kids, or you are an adult that is young at heart, we have a great list for you! We are sharing our favorite fantasy toys. Some of these we have ourselves and others we just really want. We hope you enjoy our list!
Magic Mixies
The first time I saw an ad for Magic Mixies, I was totally obsessed. You get a beautiful cauldron where you mix a bunch of ingredients into a potion that causes it to change colors, make sounds, and light up. Then, you stir the potion with your magic wand, the cauldron starts smoking, and an adorable interactive creature appears! You can also get spell refill packs that allow you to try additional spells in your cauldron. Magic Mixies seems like such a fun, fantastical experience!
They also sell Magic Mixlings, which are miniature versions of the magical creature that appears in your cauldron. There are over 40 Magic Mixlings to collect, each with their own unique power that is revealed with a magic wand. Some glow, some disappear, and some even have wings that pop out with a wave of the wand! Do you want to try Magic Mixies?
Pop! Figures
Why is it that collecting these adorable figures is so fun? Maybe it’s because it lets you show off your favorite fandoms and connect with others over a shared obsession. Or could it be the hunt for your favorite characters, especially the exclusive figures? What about the fact that it feels like an appropriate “toy” for adults to have? You can display these figures anywhere and express your inner child.
Funko has also taken their Pop! Figures to the next level with scenery and accessories, like the Hogwarts Castle and Hogwarts Express in the photos above. I love how the train can hold your favorite characters! Another thing I love is getting the Pop! advent calendars. You get a mini figure each day leading up to Christmas. They have many calendars, including Harry Potter, Star Wars, Nightmare Before Christmas, Pokémon, Marvel, and more! It’s something I look forward to each year.
Got2Glow Fairy Finder
Maybe I love the idea of this Fairy Finder because I’m a child of the 90’s, and it reminds me of a Tamagotchi or Pokemon. Or maybe I just love fairies and collecting things. Either way, I think the Fairy Finder is a great idea. It is a glowing jar that lets you collect and interact with virtual fairies. Lights and sounds guide you to locations where there are “hidden” fairies all around you. You can even trade fairies with your friends. It is an adorable toy that I wish they had when I was growing up!
Lego Sets
Not only do you get a sense of accomplishment from completing a Lego set, but you have an awesome item to display at the end of it. Building Legos is a relaxing way to spend an hour or two. I also love the variety of Lego sets. You can easily find any fantasy-themed set your heart desires. Above are some of our favorites. Do you have any Lego sets?
Fingerlings
We both have a few fingerlings, they have tons of different animals but the best for Fantasy Nerds are the dragons and the unicorns! They’re interactive pets that sit on your finger. You can pet them, cuddle them, tickle them, and more! They make adorable sounds, flap their wings, and blink their eyes. It’s like having your own magical fantasy pet!
Hatchimals
Hatchimals are so fun! They’re little eggs that you break open and reveal a small figure. It could be a dragon, a unicorn, a fox, or almost any animal you can think of! The best part is the surprise of not knowing what you’ll get. There are different sets and different rarity scales for each hatchimal. I remember going on a wild search to find hatchimals with Clever, it was exhilarating!
