Best Collectors Edition Books for Fantasy Nerds
Greetings Fantasy Nerds! This week, we will be showcasing some of our favorite collector’s edition books! There’s nothing like finding and displaying a beautiful volume of one of your favorite books!
Sailor Moon
The creator of Sailor Moon Naoko Takeuchi has recently been releasing a collectors edition of the Sailor Moon manga one at a time, and I’ve been trying to collect them all! I adore Sailor Moon! Full of love, girl power, amazing storylines with the theme of self-love, self-worth, and acceptance is what this manga is all about!
These are typical available at your local bookstore, as well as Target and Walmart on occasion. If you enjoy Sailor Moon this edition is a must, collect them all in the name of the Moon!
J.R.R Tolkien
As I am sure you’re already well aware if you read our blog on a regular basis, WTF is a huge Tolkien fan!
This Lord of the Rings collectors edition box set was published in 1965, and is my pride and joy. I love this edition, the artwork is astounding and it’s an edition officially authorized by Tolkien to be published in America!
Here are a few other interesting and rare Tolkien collectors books, including The Languages of Tolkien’s Middle Earth which provides you with the means to learn all fourteen languages Tolkien invented in some capacity, including rules of grammar, punctuation and translations!
This rare edition of Tolkien’s Unfinished Tales was published in 1980, and has an absolutely beautiful finish.
It is a little beat up, but was purchased this way from a used book store a few years ago, but it’s still incredible!
MinaLima Illustrated Editions
MinaLima is a design studio that worked on the Harry Potter films and has since created beautifully detailed illustrated adaptations of the Wizarding World books. Only the first three Harry Potter books are currently released, but Clever plans to collect the whole set!
Every single detail of these books is incredible, as you can see from the spines above. In addition to the Harry Potter books, they have a number of classics that you can add to your collection, including fairytale collections from Hans Christian Andersen and the Brothers Grimm.
The interactive illustrations in these books has to be my favorite part. As you read along you can experience the entrance to Diagon Alley opening before you, for example. The art and colors are absolutely gorgeous and make for an immersive reading experience. Which MinaLima editions would you like to own?
