Best Fantasy Nursery Ideas

Welcome, Fantasy Nerds! Clever has another baby-related post for you this week, this time on the best nursery ideas for fantasy nerds. She had a lot of fun looking at all the nursery ideas and thought she would share some of her favorites with you!

Storybook/Fairytale

One idea that would be great for fantasy nerds is a broad fairytale or storybook theme. Clever ended up having a few details in her nursery to fit this theme, which you can see. You can keep it simple with bookish quotes as decals and a small bookshelf, or you can go all out with the storybook decor. You can easily make this your own with your favorite stories, and both parents can contribute!

Another fun touch is that with this theme you can have family and friends pick out their favorite children’s books for your baby’s library. Clever did this for her baby shower and enjoyed sharing the memories of favorite tales. In addition, guests wrote a little message for the baby in the books to make them really special!

Your Favorite Fandom

You can always choose a theme based on your favorite kid-friendly fantasy fandom, as most would make great nursery themes. Some that Clever considered were Harry Potter, Beauty and the Beast, Narnia, and Pokemon. If you can’t find widely available nursery decor items for your fandom, you can check Etsy for unique finds. You could also put together an assortment of plushies, blankets, and artwork – which you may already have if you’re a fan! Mythical Creatures

All fantasy nerds have a favorite mythical creature that they would like to have as a familiar. You could make this the center of your nursery theme! Some great ideas that you could easily find decor for are dragons, unicorns, or mermaids. Or if you’d like to choose a more unique beast, like a hippogriff, you can search Etsy for some custom items. Which mythical creature would you pick for a nursery theme?

Princess or Prince

Is your little one going to be your Prince or Princess? Why not make this your nursery theme? You can choose a specific royal character from your favorite book or movie, or go with a generic prince/princess aesthetic. This theme has the benefit of having more widely available nursery items. Clever saw plenty at Target and Amazon, and even added some to her registry. Another bonus is that you can choose any color scheme for the nursery and still make this theme work.
