Best Fantasy Shows Winter 2026

Greetings, Fantasy Nerds! Some of the most anticipated shows are coming soon this winter, so we made this post for you to mark your calendars! The winter months can be dreary, but a good Fantasy show paired with some hot cocoa can help. Get cozy and check out our list below!

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End – Season 2

We are so excited for Season 2 of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End! It will be here soon, releasing on Crunchyroll on January 16th! We have mentioned this anime before in prior posts, but to recap the story follows what happens to the Party of Heroes after their epic journey of defeating the demon king is over. The characters are relatable, the world-building is incredible, and the action scenes are beautifully animated. This show puts you in your feels, and the setting is breathtaking! We highly recommend it to all Fantasy Nerds.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

Another spin-off series set in Westeros, but we are excited because this story is following Sir Duncan the Tall and Aegon V (aka Dunk and Egg). You’ll be familiar with their story if you’re an avid reader of the books. This takes place roughly 90 years before events in Game of Thrones. This airs January 18th, 2026 on HBO so mark your calendars!!

Bridgerton – Season 4

If you’re a fan of Bridgerton season four is coming soon!! Releasing on Jan 29th, 2026 on Netflix. If based on the books, which the prior seasons have been so far, this story feels like Cinderella! Perfect for Fantasy Nerds! If you haven’t watched Bridgerton, you have some time to get caught up on the previous seasons.

Jujutsu Kaisen – Season 3

This is one of those shows you get absolutely sucked into, and we cannot wait for season 3! While the official air date is January 8th on Cunchyroll, you can see “Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution” in select theaters, some showings starting as early as December 4th! This experience includes the Shibuya arc and the first two episodes of new season. WTF will be seeing this in theatres!

House of the Dragon – Season 3

While it is not coming this winter, we wanted to mention that House of Dragons season 3 is expected this summer! The first Game of Thrones spin-off series follows the start of the fall of house Targaryen, and takes place about 200 years before Game of Thrones. There is no official air date as of now, but this summer will be here in the blink of an eye!
