Best Books to Introduce Children to Fantasy
Greetings, Fantasy Nerds! This week we’ve curated a list of books that are ideal for introducing children to the wonderful Fantasy genre! It’s important to get kids reading, so if you have kids and you love Fantasy, this is the post for you. We hope you enjoy our list and perhaps find some ideas on where to start your kids!
Chronicles of Narnia

This was one of the earliest fantasy series that Clever remembers reading. What kid who read tales of Narnia could resist checking the back of their closet or wardrobe for a portal to a magical land? These are the kind of books that inspire children’s imagination.
Artemis Fowl

Clever and WTF’s mom used to read these books to them and their brothers. They looked forward to the chance to hear the next chapter and find out what happened next to the boy genius.
Harry Potter

The Harry Potter books are what deepened Clever’s love for reading and allowed it to take root. She looked forward to the release of each new book in the series and went to midnight release parties at the library with WTF too. Hogwarts is a place many children dreamed of going, and the books were full of exciting adventures. Not to mention they teach great values of friendship, wisdom, and bravery.
A Series of Unfortunate Events

WTF loved a Series of Unfortunate Events and was one of the earliest memories of reading a long series of books. However, they suck you into the story, even as a kid, and you can’t wait to find out what happens next to these unfortunate orphans. The covers and pages of the books are also so satisfying to feel, and will get any kid hooked on reading!
Goosebumps 👀

Goosebumps are a necessity to read as a kid. We still remember going to the library to find one we hadn’t read, which was pretty easy since there are so many! They’re technically spooky stories, but wrapped in mystery and easy to digest for kids, a little fright can be a good thing!
