Best TCGs for Fantasy Nerds

Greetings, Fantasy Nerds! This week, we’ll be talking about some of our favorite trading card games. Whether you enjoy playing card games, simply collecting them, or both, this is the post for you!

Neopets – Battledome TCG

The Neopets Battledome TCG is their newly released trading card game. While the characters we know and love remain, it’s a bit different playstyle-wise from the original, and the art is slightly changed. They’re both so fun to collect and both have holographic cards, which is the most important, obviously!

Neopets – Original TCG

The original is out of print, but cards can still be found on sites like eBay. That is where WTF is able to occasionally find the rarer cards. The original TCG has more of a nostalgia feeling, but they’re both so fun to collect and play!

World of Warcraft TCG

The World of Warcraft trading card game is unfortunately out of print. But the game is still very much playable, and you can find cards, play mats, and more on sites like eBay! The cards are so fun to collect, especially if you’re a fan of the game, because you can get your favorite characters to use as your “hero” and build your deck around them, or collect them! Nowadays, the game is still active online, basically, as Hearthstone.

Pokémon

We have fond childhood memories of collecting Pokémon cards, like many Fantasy Nerds of our generation. With Pokémon celebrating their 30th Anniversary, it’s a great time to get back into collecting the cards and merch! Clever’s favorite Pokémon is Eevee, and WTF’s are Dragonair and Teddiursa. What is your favorite Pokémon?

Weiss Schwarz

Weiss Schwarz is popular among anime fans for the gorgeous artwork and variety of characters and scenes you can collect. They have collectible cards for just about every popular anime you could think of. Clever got a booster box of Frieren cards, and you can see some of her collection above. It’s a ton of fun trying to pull the rare foil cards or even the special autographed cards signed by the character’s voice actor! WTF would love to get some Hatsune Miku or JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure cards! Which ones would you get?
