Magical Summer Activities for Fantasy Nerds
Greetings, Fantasy Nerds, summer is here! We’ve decided to celebrate this week by giving you some magical ideas for activities to do with your family and friends this summer. We hope you get some good ideas, and we would love to hear yours!
Fantasy Crafts
Fantasy crafts that you can do indoors on the hottest of days are the best to have in your back pocket for the summer. They’re also great to do with friends or family! Below, we’ve linked our best DIY projects for Fantasy Nerds to get you started.
Visit a Renaissance Fair
Renaissance Faires start popping up during the summer, and they are the perfect fantasy family event. They have plenty of kid-friendly shows, fair games, and shops. You can watch jousts, meet fairies, and buy your own pet dragon!
Just Google Renaissance Faires in your area, and you are likely to find at least one. If you do visit the Ren Fair, be sure to check out our post below on what to wear!
Create a Fairy Garden
We have always wanted to make a fairy garden, and it would be the perfect at-home magical activity. What’s so fun about this is how much room there is to get creative. You can use random items you have at home or go for a walk to look for twigs, moss, and pretty rocks. If you need ideas for your fairy garden, check out this post we found.

Magical Travel Destinations
Summer is also the time for travel. If you’re looking for some ideas, we’ve got you covered! You can check out two of our posts linked below for a list of places to travel for Fantasy Nerds. You can also search your area for fantasy-themed destinations, because you might not need to go far. For example, things like MagiQuest or Wizard Quest might be within driving distance in your neck of the woods!
Go to the Library or a Local Bookstore
We always loved the summer reading programs at the library as a kid! Sometimes local bookstores will have events as well. Take a look at their calendars and plan a day to visit and take home some fantasy books! You can always find our fantasy book recommendations here.
You could also add to the book-themed day by making some bookish crafts. Check out our post below for ideas.
