Celebrating Your Writing Accomplishments for the New Year

We have a special post this week, looking back and celebrating our writing accomplishments of the last year together. What have you achieved in 2022 that you’re proud of? It can be simply starting to write, doing research, taking classes for writing, or anything. Taking the time to look back on your accomplishments can make you see how far you’ve really come. We will discuss ours in this post, and look forward to your comments!

Creating Our Own Website

This is a huge one for us! We decided we wanted to own our website name, so Clever was able to obtain the domain. CleverandWTF.com is easier to navigate and remember! Building on that, WTF created a Link Tree for all of our socials so that it’s one click to get to our website or our Medium. In this day and age, having it easier to navigate to our website and our Medium is so important. Have you worked on your socials or internet presence?

Improving Our Writing Together

During our time together over the holidays we reflected on how much our writing has improved. Specifically, writing together has made a huge impact on each other! While we have very different writing styles, working on stories together and having each other look over our individually written stories has made such an impact on our writing skills. We have learned from each other, grown with each other, and most importantly supported each other. Having someone who you love and trust to work on your passion with is absolutely incredible, and we could not be more thankful to have each other. Do you have someone special in your life you go to about your writing?

Posting Regularly

It can be difficult to be consistent with your writing, we know! We both have full-time jobs, pups, and a family, but I am proud to say we have posted weekly to our website the entire year! We wrote 13 short stories, 3 poems, and 20 posts that all were published to our blog. In addition, we made it more of a priority to post to our Medium, where we shared 24 stories and 5 posts. It may seem like it’s expected to post regularly, but expectations can lead to unhappiness when in reality any stride you make forward is to be celebrated. We still get anxious putting our writing out there, but doing it anyway is so important to your growth as a writer. Have you shared your writing with the world?

Building a Connection

We’ve made an impact and built a connection with new readers and writers the past year through our blog, Medium, and social media. We reached over 500 followers on Medium and over 300 followers on Instagram. Our Fantasy Nerds Facebook group reached 60 members, and we also held our first Annual Writing Challenge and our first Virtual Writing Retreat in the group. We’re looking forward to another writing and reading challenge in 2023, if you would like to join the group here

Another way to tell the impact we’ve had is by the comments our readers leave. Every comment means the world to us, all 123 that we received last year! To have that many comments on our stories makes us feel like our writing is making a difference. We love reading back through the comments when we need encouragement. Be sure to take a look at your numbers and comments, and appreciate the impact you’ve made over the past year.
